In November 2024, RCI's managing director Shawn Jang attended a sustainable hospitality forum held in Taipei. The forum brought together industry and academia to discuss practical approaches for the sustainable transformation of the hospitality industry. The event attracted over 100 participants, including hotel owners, local government officials and relevant organizations. All in an effort to promote the sustainable development of the hospitality sector and enhance Taiwan's tourism competitiveness.
This forum featured seven prominent industry and academia speakers, focusing on trends in sustainable hospitality, new business opportunities, and the challenges of implementation. Building on the content of previous seed training courses, the event delved into the core objectives, mechanisms, and pathways of global sustainability standards. Through focused discussions, the speakers exchanged ideas with hospitality professionals and offered actionable transformation strategies. Topics included trends and new perspectives in sustainable tourism, sustainable hospitality certifications, and strategies for integrating green transportation and alternative to foster environmental conservation and energy efficiency.
